P-Coumaric Acid Induces Apoptosis in Mcf7 Human Breast Cancer Cells and Sup- presses Ras Gene Expression

Research Article

Breast cancer is the leading invasive cancer in women globally. This study was aimed at evaluating the anti-apoptosis of pca on the mcf- 7 breast cancer cell line. Experiments were conducted in which the mcf-7 cell line was treated with pca which showed decreased cell vi- ability, increase in ldh activity and caspase 3 activation. The results were evaluated with real time pcr and revealed that pca reduced the amount of h-ras and k-ras transcript in mcf-7 breast cancer cells.

Chitinase-3-Like Protein 1 (YKL-40) As A New Biomarker in Inflammation, Oncology, and Neurology

Short Communication

Short Communication: The chitinase family includes 18 enzymes, and among them, the most studied are chitotriosidase and to a lesser extent acid AMCase. Chitotriosidase activity has been shown to drastically increase in the serum of patients with Gaucher disease (a lysosomal storage disease); this biomarker is known to be useful for the diagnosis and theranostics of Gaucher disease.
